FOUNDER'S NOTE

What began as curiosity slowly became a calling.

My journey with TURAJA did not begin with the dream of building a saree brand. It began much earlier - in classrooms of interior design, where I found myself endlessly drawn to textiles, textures, colours, and the quiet stories fabrics could tell. I was fascinated by how material could shape emotion, space, and identity. What started as exploration gradually turned into something deeply personal.

Being part of a family rooted in textiles meant I was constantly surrounded by creativity in motion — fabrics being dyed, metallic threads catching light, embroidery machines at work, block prints coming alive layer by layer. Somewhere within those everyday moments, I began asking myself how I could carry this legacy forward in my own voice.

Growing up in South India, Mysore crepe was always close to me. I watched my father experiment with it in his own way, and over time, I felt inspired to explore the fabric through my own lens. Its fluidity, softness, and understated elegance fascinated me. To me, a saree was never just a garment. It represented grace, strength, beauty, and a quiet sense of confidence.

As a third-generation creator, I wanted to build something that reflected not only heritage, but also perspective. TURAJA became that space — a platform where inherited knowledge meets personal interpretation. Every saree carries fragments of this journey: thoughtful colour stories, explorations of texture, and inspirations drawn from India’s rich craft traditions.

At TURAJA, I hope to redefine the way sarees are experienced. They are not reserved only for celebrations or occasions. A saree can be effortless. It can move with everyday life while still holding beauty and meaning. Through the lightweight elegance of Mysore crepe, I wanted to create pieces that feel timeless, versatile, and easy to wear.

This is more than a brand to me.

It is my journey, woven into every piece.
